Gandahaar

Gandahaar is a small city at the eastern end of the Mare Sirenum seabed region. It has a mixed economy but is in economic and political decline since Prince Waritaan was crippled following a seizure. Prince Waritaan has never fully recovered and is still paralyzed down his right side and has severe difficulty talking. His seven sons are arguing over the succession with each courting the various factions with the city.
For the past two years the merchants have been in control through their proxy and have cut funding to the army and navy to weaken their influence. Unfortunately this has led to an increase in High Martian raiding, a subsequent drop in trade and a weakening of the economy of Gandahaar.
The internal chaos is growing with factions courting the Spanish at Villa Real and PrincessIsyrnis XIII at Sirenia. The only thing they seem to have in common is a deep hatred for each other.
Memnite is the language used in the city. It is part of the Bootnai family of Canal Martian languages and is heavily inflected, tonal and subtle in its shades of meaning. It is sadly notoriously difficult to learn for humans.
