Marcus Steuermann
Steuermann was born in Amsterdam, the fifth child, of a Jewish father and a Swedish mother though he was raised in the Jewish faith; a thing he still takes great comfort from. He inherited his mother’s fair complexion and red hair and his father’s intelligence. He worked in numerous business roles but always felt he was in the shadow of his elders till he enlisted in the Kinsbergen Expedition and went to Mars. His arrival was very spectacular but not as he had wished with the crash leaving him stranded.
Steuermann was taught Dutch, German and English as a child and has become fluent in Spanish through necessity while his French is merely passable. He has learnt Koline, the Martian trade tongue, but also employs several Martian linguists. He is still in his fifties and has great plans for his company and his adopted home city.
